Social Rights Worker, Individual Services – permanent full-time position
Project Genesis, a community organization, seeks a person for a permanent full-time position for its fast-paced information, referral and advocacy drop-in centre located in the culturally-diverse Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood.
The centre offers front-line services on landlord-tenant issues and social programs, such as welfare and family benefits.
The position includes following up on complex individual situations, supervising volunteers and students and reviewing intervention files to ensure quality.
Qualifications: very good oral and written French and English; ability to learn quickly; attention to detail; ability to analyze complex information; ability to work under pressure independently and within a team; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; community sector volunteer or paid experience; individual services experience; and some knowledge of social programs and tenants’ rights. Interest in social law, in social justice issues and in working with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds is required.
